Have you ever walked into a room thinking everyone would hate you, and the opposite happened? Then you’re just like the Twilight Saga’s newest vampiress!
Your first day on a new job or at a new school is always hard. You feel like all eyes are on you (trust us, we’ve been there). But Bryce Dallas Howard had it even worse than most of us on her first day filming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: she was replacing the cast’s friend, Rachelle Lefevre.
Rachelle’s Twilight demise caused quite a commotion in the vamp-fan community, as did Bryce’s arrival. But, says the actress, she really had no reason to worry: everyone on set welcomed her with open arms.
“[They] were really lovely. And yes, it’s an incredible group of people,” Bryce told MTV News. She added, “I have so much respect for them. There’s so much frenzy surrounding them, and they’ve remained grounded, and their friendships are genuine. I felt very lucky to work with such a good group of people. It was a great energy on set- — that people are so passionate about bringing these characters to life.”
Director Ron Howard’s flame-haired daughter also speaks out about the drama with Rachelle. “It was actually a really unfortunate circumstance where the actress who everyone really cared deeply about, who has done an amazing job in this role, was unavailable. They were looking for someone to fill the slot; there was intimidation there and feeling a huge responsibility to do my best.”
Phew, no wonder you were so worried on your first day, Bryce. But it sounds like you did a great job and made some good friends, too.
