We’re glad to hear she’s going to be all right!

UPDATE: Claire Mercuri, who represents Billy Joel, tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Alexa Ray Joel “has been released [from the hospital].”

When asked about daughter Alexa Ray Joel, who was admitted to the hospital yesterday after a drug overdose, Billy Joel tells Newsday: “She is going to be fine.”

Billy was contacted at his Sag Harbor, where he stayed yesterday, rather than visiting Alexa Ray at the hospital. A friend of Billy’s tells New York’s Daily News that “Billy didn’t go so it didn’t become a circus atmosphere,” but assures the paper that Billy “was in constant phone contact” over his daughter’s situation.

Mom Christie Brinkley, meanwhile, rushed to her daughter’s hospital room at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday, the Daily News reports. Alexa Ray has a close relationship with both parents.
