Self-proclaimed yo-yo dieter Sara Rue won’t be able to wave a magic wand and lose weight – she’s going the old-fashioned way with a little help from Jenny Craig!

The Eastwick star is JC’s latest celeb spokesperson – she joins Valerie Bertinelli, Nicole Sullivan and Phylicia Rashad – to sign on with the weight-loss program.

“Losing this weight goes beyond just what it will mean physically,” Sara says in a statement on Jenny Craig’s Web site. “It’s about establishing emotional stability in my life. My weight has been on a rollercoaster since I was a young girl, but I’m committed to gaining control of this aspect of my life.”

Sara takes the Jenny Craig crown from Valerie Bertinelli, who told People that Sara reminds her pre-program self. “She’s every woman who’s ever started a diet,” said Valerie. Another plus? “[Sarah]’s real. She’s honest.”

Valerie lost a whopping 40 lbs. so what’s Sara’s goal? The magic number, for now, is 30.

The new diet maven says she plans to go rock climbing or wind-surfing after dropping those excess pounds. “The things that I’m just too intimidated the size I am now to do,” she said.

Sara seems like quite the thrill seeker…but there is one thing that freaks her out. “I don’t know if I’m more scared of sharks or being in a bathing suit. Maybe sharks, depending on the day,” she confessed.

We totally feel you, Sara, bikinis are scary! Ask Valerie for some advice, she looked fabulous when she bared all after Jenny!
