Karina Smirnoff Says She Hopes to Be Dancing With the Stars Next Season!
Karina Smirnoff won’t let bad blood between herself and ex-fiance Maksim Chmerkovskiy get in the way of work, she tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
“It’s just a rumor,” Karina reassured us when we suggested that either she or her bitter ex wouldn’t be returning for Season 10 of the hit hoofer series. “I love the show!” she added. “I love being part of the show.”
Even though the ex-couple can’t seem to get along (that’s putting it lightly!), Karina is a consummate professional. “ I’m just going to focus and concentrate and make sure I’m doing the best job I can on the show,” she said.
If you love watching Karina dance as much as we do, be sure to let ABC know! The sassy ballroom dancer hasn’t signed any contracts for the next season, yet. “Hopefully they’ll have me. I’ll come back for it,” she said.
There is one request Karina has for Santa (or producers at ABC) this holiday season … John Stamos. “I’m hoping he hasn’t booked anything else, because I really want him!” she raved.
Karina and Uncle Jesse? We smell a championship couple! But just in case you can only have one of your two favorite dancers, who would you pick to stay on the show: Karina or Maksim?

.I found an official list out there dated May 27, 2010. The following are the celebrity dancers that have been selected for the next season: Cher, Weird Al Yankovich, Godfrey, Cynthia Nixon, Dr. Phil, Jenny McCarthy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Val Kilmer, Dara Torres, and Sasha Cohen. Congratulations all.
Clearly, the dancers have already been chosen. It is not known if Karina will dance this next season. However, if she were on the roster, she would be so busy rehearsing now that she wouldn’t have time for anything else. I think she knew about this around May 28; long before she finally decided to follow Johnny Weir (”Hi, handsome!!!!”), and in so doing she is also using Johnny’s fans, their energy and enthusiasm to garner and raise her “campaign” as she refers to it on her Twitter so that SHE can dance on DWTS, not Johnny. This just sounds very selfish to me. But it’s very clear.
