What sibling rivalry? Emily and Zooey Deschanel say working together is a breeze!
The adorable Deschanel sisters were finally able to work together on an upcoming episode of Bones (“The Goop on the Girl”) which airs on Fox Dec. 10th, and they couldn’t have loved it more. In fact, the sisters had such a good time that they definitely plan on doing it again.
Although both gals claim they don’t fight in real life, they made working together as professionals seem so seamless because 29-year-old Zooey obeyed her boss, big sis Emily.
“It was Emily’s set, so I was happy to be working for her to some degree,” Zooey says of 33-year-old Em, who, in addition to starring in the show, does double duty as a producer on the series.
“You’re one of my favorite employees,” Emily dead-panned, laughing.
“Thanks,” joked Zooey, who added more seriously, “It was very smooth and I had a great time. It was nice that I can stand back and just see Emily [in action] and be proud of her.”
Although the sisters won’t spill all their secrets, they did say the episode has been left open-ended in case Zooey’s character, Margaret Whitesell, a distant relative (imagine!) of Emily’s Brennan, wants to come back.
But as for a future musical collaboration, fans better not hold their breath.
“That’s not something I’ve ever considered,” Zooey, who recorded an album with musician M. Ward as “She & Him” in 2008, said. “Emily is a very good singer, but I hadn’t thought about it. We’ve never done music together so much.”
Who needs duets? These two siblings seem to have their sister act all figured out.
