Elin — Will She Leave?
In Tiger Woods‘ carefully crafted statement this morning, he credited Elin, saying she “has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone.”
You better believe it, Tiger! Clearly, she’s pretty much the only one in your marriage that’s been truly “supporting” your family.
If Jaimee Grubbs, the 24-year-old cocktail waitress and former reality show contestant, is to be believed — and there’s no reason not to believe her — then you’ve possibly been involved in more than one affair over two-and-a-half years through the birth of your two children, until as recently as a month and a half ago. There are now also multiple allegations from multiple sources, about possible affairs with two other women, Kalika Moquin, and Rachel Uchitel, both of whom have denied the allegations.
How can Elin, your wife, 29, whom you married in 2004, be feeling after she hears about all these other beautiful, sexy brunette women — and there are more allegations coming out of the woodwork at this very moment.
We spoke with one relationship expert who tells us that unfortunately Elin could be blaming this situation on herself, “She could be thinking I’m not pretty enough, I’m getting older, I’m a mother,” dishes Whitney Casey, relationship expert and author of The Man Plan Drive Men Wild – Not Away. “She probably isn’t blaming herself entirely but she is probably taking some sort of culpability.”
Also unfortunately for Elin, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were more surprises to come, because if Jaimee Grubbs is any indication, Woods has been recklessly indiscreet. Grubbs claims she has 300 sexy text messages and photos, and the world is currently listening to a voice message to her on usmagazine.com ,from a man who calls himself “Tiger” and sure sounds an awful lot like the billion-dollar golfing great.
Us Weekly also reports that when Tiger was at an Orlando, Fla. club, allegedly Tiger “had a girl on either side and his hand was up one of the girl’s skirts.”
So the big question is, after all of this: Will Elin, the mother of daughter Sam, 2, and son Charlie, 10 months, try to patch up their marriage or will she pretty much take an 8-iron to their union and smash it to smithereens.
If I were her, I’d move on. She’s not some poor, pathetic soul: “She’s beautiful, educated, smart, and desirable,” says relationship expert and syndicated radio host Cooper Lawrence. She can move on and find someone who can respect that.
Dr. Carole Liberman agrees: “If she’s smart, her marriage is over.” Both experts insist the the marriage could only survive if Tiger is ready to undergo personal and relationship therapy to uncover why she should cheat, and to see if they can get past the issues that made him vulnerable to affairs in the first place.
So far, Elin has remained conspicuously quiet, but there’s one thing for sure if she does decide to leave. Even if there’s a prenup in place, no doubt she’ll walk away a very wealthy woman. And she deserves to!
