Top Florida attorney Roy Black is congratulating golf master Tiger Woods for refusing to speak with police in relation to his much-publicized car accident on Nov. 27.
Black tells Chris Yandek‘s CYInterview.com, “If Tiger Woods and his wife [Elin] get involved in the court process, every single piece of dirty laundry will be aired.” He compares the situation to that of late night host David Letterman.
And some of that dirty laundry could very likely include Rachel Uchitel, the woman who was allegedly involved in a relationship with Tiger. Though she completely denies ever dating the sports superstar, Rachel and Tiger were splashed on the cover of gossip magazines just days before Tiger’s bizarre, still unexplained car accident.
Black reveals, “Tiger Woods, quite frankly, has handled this very well … if he had gone and given a statement to the police he’d be regretting it today. Just like David Letterman.”
Letterman, as you know, went to police during a recent scandal, when he was being blackmailed by a man who was in love with the married funny man’s secret girlfriend.
Black says, “If Letterman had just told the guy, ‘Buzz off’ … that would’ve been the end of the matter. But by calling the police and getting entwined into this criminal justice system [the situation escalated]. ”
The attorney also points out that, “In Florida it’s worse than New York because we allow cameras to film everything in the courtroom. Every document will be available for the press and the public. Nothing is private.”
