Almost 96 of 100 people buying tickets for movies this weekend are going to see vampires — in “New Moon” and “Twilight.”

DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com’s Nikki Finke reports that 94% of today’s online ticket sales are for screenings of New Moon, and 2% are for the re-release of Twilight.

That means that only six out of every 100 people buying movie tickets today are buying them for something OTHER than New Moon!

And two of those remaining six bought tickets for Twilight! Absolutely shocking.

Variety.com reports that there are even more indications that New Moon is going to have a BIG weekend at the box office:

1. MovieTickets.com reported over 2,150 sold out performances this weekend, 200 of them in L.A. and NYC.
2. Almost 3 million Twi-hards tuned in to MySpace’s exclusive web cast of ‘New Moon’ premiere, a record number.

It’s going to be a HUGE vampire weekend at the box office. Get tickets now, if you haven’t already!
